General Meeting

On 18 Feb 2025 at 7pm, come join us and our guest speaker Andrew Thompson as he discusses "Lessons Learned from my African American Genealogy Research: There is Something for Everybody." In this presentation Mr. Thompson will review the best practices and lessons learned during his discovery of over 50 enslaved relatives. These tips transcend the niche of African American Genealogy and will provide practical advice for researchers in all areas of Genealogy.

The Amelia Island Genealogical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7pm on the 3rd Tuesday, 20 January 2026, in the community room at the Fernandina Branch Library. The public is invited to join us! At this meeting, guest speaker Larry Fermi will present “Let’s Make a New Deal,” a program examining the Works Progress Administration, Civilian Conservation Corps, and National Youth Administration. The presentation focuses on how these New Deal programs affected ordinary Americans during the Great Depression and the records they produced.
