Jones Family Cemetery - John Alexander Jones

My name is Chris Jones and I am researching my Jones family roots that seems to be centered around the Nassau/Duval county areas.
I have a great grandfather named Ellis Alexander Jones ( who was born in Duval county to a John Alexander Jr. ( and Charity Isabell Jones ( John was a farmer and lived to be 75 years old.  He is buried in the McCormick Jones cemetery.
I have been searching for his father who I believe is also named John Alexander Jones.   I think I found his tombstone in the Jones Cemetery in Callahan.  (
I see that his wife is a Hagan, which matches with what I have found in other references. (I think the Jones and Hagan families were close)
From your societies website that describes the Jones Cemetery (
you mention that John Jones is one of the oldest graves in the cemetery.   I was hoping to find out if any one of your members has more details about this person.  Who was the cemetery named after?   I see a lot of Jones family buried here.
Is there someone I should contact that might be able to help me?

Chris, Jim Miller requested that I do research on your 3 times G-grandfather John Alexander Jones... He was born in North Carolina 1802 and at one point migrated to Florida.  In looking at a death certificate for John Alexander Jr. listed his Mother with the last name of McCormick.  Mary Ann "Polly" McCormick was born 1805 in Georgia.  She and John A Jones Sr married June11,1826.  She passed in 1876 in FL.
Looking at the grave marker for John A Jones SR the wife is listed as Mary Ann Hagin.
I have not been able to find anymore information on John Sr or Mary Ann "Polly" McCormick.
